Stand Up Now: Stop Congress from Gutting VA Disability Benefits!

Right now, your earned benefits are under direct threat. On October 29, 2025, Senator Tommy Tuberville and his allies laid the groundwork in a Senate hearing to overhaul and severely cut VA disability compensation. Using misleading claims about widespread fraud and “restoring purpose” to disabled veterans, they plan to slash ratings for conditions like PTSD, tinnitus, sleep apnea, and hypertension. They even want to force veterans into mandatory treatment just to qualify for benefits.

As an honorably discharged veteran who’s served in combat zones, I find these proposals not just misguided, but profoundly offensive and dishonorable. The idea that our injuries and struggles are exaggerated, that PTSD is “curable,” or that most veterans are somehow gaming the system, is an insult to all who have served and sacrificed.

These are not empty threats. The Senate is advancing commissions and legislative efforts right now. Veteran organizations are sounding the alarm, but they need our voices—urgently and en masse.

It’s time for us to take a stand, together.

What You Can Do:

Contact your Representative and Senators TODAY. Tell them to oppose and block these dangerous VA disability “reforms.”

Sample Letter

Dear [Senator/Representative] [Last Name],

I am an honorably discharged veteran who has served in combat zones. I am writing as your constituent and as part of the veteran community to urge you to oppose, vote against, and block Senator Tuberville’s proposed “reforms” to the VA disability benefits system, which were discussed in the Senate hearing on October 29, 2025.

The proposals discussed would gut vital disability benefits for veterans—eliminating key ratings, restricting mental health support, introducing mandatory treatment for benefits, and separating healthcare from compensation. These changes rest on a false narrative about fraud (with less than 4% of VA fraud investigations involving actual veterans) and do not honor our service or sacrifice.

As someone who has been wounded in the line of duty, I find these proposals both offensive and dishonorable. They put millions of veterans and families at risk and betray the promises made to us.

Please stand with veterans. Oppose any commission or legislation cutting VA disability compensation and access to care. We fought for this country—do not take away the support we earned.

Sincerely,
